Flowers were in full bloom and the day had arrived where Euphoric had become a legal adult. Months had gone by. It was now July 15th. Euphoric spent the entire day in a dark room with his head buried in a pillow crying.

He had slipped into a severe state of depression. Not a day went by that he did not beg God to end his suffering. Euphoric cried so much that he thought his heart would die.

He made several attempts to apologize to Lorenzo and when he realized that it was all in vain he became filled with rage. He would leave messages on Lorenzo’s voice mail cursing him out and even sent him a card with shit smeared inside. Every silver Corvette that passed with tinted windows and silver rims caused Euphoric’s heart to race anxiously with anticipation that Lorenzo would be behind the wheel. Euphoric had undoubtedly developed a case of fatal attraction.

Robin knew something was wrong with her son but she couldn’t put her finger on it. One night Euphoric decided that he was tired of being sick and tired. He was either going to live or die.

Euphoric pulled himself out of bed and walked into the living room in a trance like state. His eyes watered as he asked his mother, “Can I tell you something?”

He quickly began to ramble off the time line of events to her, speaking with great speed. Robin cried hysterically and asked questions that went ignored. Euphoric had to get everything out before he could answer any questions.

When he got to the part about not using protection Robin went through the roof.

“How could you? Oh, God! No! No Lord! Do you know that you could die? Robin was inconsolable.

Euphoric was drained and asked his mother in a desperate voice, “Do you still love me?”

“Do I still love you? Do I still love you? Why do you even have to ask me that? Of course I still love you! Don’t you know I would give my last breath for you?”

The tears between the two of them were non-stop. Robin embraced Euphoric and for the first time in over a year he felt that there was a glimpse of hope.

The next morning Robin rushed Euphoric to a local clinic to take an HIV test. The week that followed seemed to never end. The results came back. God had granted Euphoric a second chance at life. He was Cocoa butter clean.

Robin badgered Euphoric as she cried and made him promise that he would never compromise his life again. She also expressed pure hatred towards Lorenzo but Euphoric didn’t want her to hold that type of hate in her heart because he felt that he was old enough to know what he was doing when he got involved with Lorenzo.

Euphoric was weak from all of the events that had occurred. He didn’t have energy to do much of anything. Only time could heal his wounds.

Slowly but surely he began to return to his old resilient self.
